Manufacturing Maintenace Mechanic

Job Description:

  • Observes mechanical devices in operation to ensure they are in proper working order. Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
  • Diagnoses malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  • Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
  • Ability to interpret specifications, blueprints and job orders.
  • Repairs all production machinery and any related equipment. Coordinating repairs with production supervisors to ensure as little disruption to the production schedule as possible.
  • Examines machinery to ensure it is properly set up and adjusted prior to production start-up.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Performs maintenance in accordance with Preventative Maintenance Program.
  • Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
  • Assists supervisor with the maintenance of parts inventory, notifying supervisor of parts and machines needed. Lubricate and cleans parts.
  • Sets up and operates drill press, grinder and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
  • Assists with structural repairs on building.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical circuits and industrial electronic equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics
  • Complies with company policies and procedures.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
  • Complies with all duties outlined in Maintenance Program (Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures).
  • Conduct and document daily scale checks. Calibrate scales as needed and schedule repairs.
  • Assist with reviewing and maintaining MSDS sheets.
  • Inspects and documents monthly fire door alarms to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Inspect monthly emergency lights to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Insures that forklift daily check forms are filled out for each forklift and pallet jack.
