Monday-Thursday 7AM-5:30PM, Friday 7AM-3:30 and every other Saturday 7AM-12PM. Pay is $28-38 an hour.
We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Welding Inspector to inspect and ensure the quality and safety of welded structural steel components in accordance with project specifications, AWS standards, and company quality requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of welding procedures, fabrication processes, and structural steel inspections.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect structural steel welds for compliance with AWS and project specifications
- Perform visual weld inspections and document findings
- Verify measurements, dimensions, and material specifications
- Review welding procedures, blueprints, and fabrication drawings
- Ensure welders are following proper welding procedures and safety standards
- Identify defects and recommend corrective actions
- Maintain inspection records, reports, and quality documentation
- Coordinate with fabrication, production, and project management teams
- Monitor shop and field welding activities to ensure quality standards are met
- Assist with audits and compliance inspections as needed
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Structural Steel Welding Inspector required
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) preferred
- Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and welding processes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols
- Knowledge of AWS, OSHA, and quality control standards
- Experience using measuring tools and inspection equipment
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
- Ability to work in shop and/or field environments
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to work in industrial and outdoor environments as needed
- Must be able to wear required PPE at all times
